# Beedle Parent vs Cambridge Reader

The clearest difference is rating: Beedle Parent at 5.0 against Cambridge Reader's 2.5. Beedle Parent also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). Cambridge Reader's advantage is ratings volume (52 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Beedle Parent holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cambridge Reader has 52 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Beedle Parent ships an update every 2 months, Cambridge Reader every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
