# Scorpion Percussion vs True Classic

The clearest difference is update cadence: True Classic at every 3 weeks against Scorpion Percussion's every 12 months. True Classic also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 11) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Scorpion Percussion's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (83% vs 62%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

True Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: True Classic has 14K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Scorpion Percussion's written reviews are positive against 62% of True Classic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scorpion Percussion ships an update every 12 months, True Classic every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
