# Master English vs KORTEX

The clearest difference is monetization model: KORTEX at free with in-app purchases against Master English's subscription. KORTEX also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 78%). Master English's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (31K vs 8). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Master English sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $13.99 per month and KORTEX sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Master English against 5.0 for KORTEX. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Master English has 31K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Master English's written reviews are positive against 100% of KORTEX's.

Master English ships an update fortnightly, KORTEX monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
