# Jigsaw Keyboard vs Charging Engine

The clearest difference is monetization model: Jigsaw Keyboard at free with in-app purchases against Charging Engine's subscription. Jigsaw Keyboard also leads on review sentiment (60% vs 52%). Charging Engine's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jigsaw Keyboard sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Charging Engine sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Charging Engine holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.9K and 11K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Jigsaw Keyboard's written reviews are positive against 52% of Charging Engine's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Jigsaw Keyboard ships an update monthly, Charging Engine every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
