# BlackSight vs Discreet

The clearest difference is rating: Discreet at 4.4 against BlackSight's 3.8. Discreet also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 44) and device support (4 vs 1). BlackSight's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 55%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlackSight sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Discreet sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Discreet holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Discreet has 2.1K ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of BlackSight's written reviews are positive against 55% of Discreet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
