# McClockface vs Clock Pocket

The clearest difference is monetization model: McClockface at free with in-app purchases against Clock Pocket's subscription. McClockface also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (316 vs 42). Clock Pocket's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 63%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. McClockface sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.00 per 7 days and Clock Pocket sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

McClockface holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: McClockface has 316 ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of McClockface's written reviews are positive against 78% of Clock Pocket's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

McClockface ships an update every 3 weeks, Clock Pocket fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
