# Pomodoro Hero vs TaskFocus

Pomodoro Hero and TaskFocus both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of TaskFocus's written reviews are positive against 25% of Pomodoro Hero's. Pomodoro Hero's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pomodoro Hero sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and TaskFocus sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TaskFocus holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pomodoro Hero has 115 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 25% of Pomodoro Hero's written reviews are positive against 100% of TaskFocus's.

Pomodoro Hero ships an update weekly, TaskFocus every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
