# Pomodoro Hero vs Pomodoro Timer

Pomodoro Hero and Pomodoro Timer both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 60% of Pomodoro Timer's written reviews are positive against 25% of Pomodoro Hero's. Pomodoro Hero's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pomodoro Hero sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Pomodoro Timer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pomodoro Hero holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pomodoro Hero has 115 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Pomodoro Hero's written reviews are positive against 60% of Pomodoro Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pomodoro Hero ships an update weekly, Pomodoro Timer every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
