# Carrot. vs RoomU

The clearest difference is rating: Carrot. at 4.8 against RoomU's 4.0. Carrot. also leads on ratings volume (343 vs 4) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). RoomU's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 13). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Carrot. sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. RoomU asks for nothing beyond the download.

Carrot. holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carrot. has 343 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Carrot.'s written reviews are positive against 100% of RoomU's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Carrot. ships an update every 3 weeks, RoomU every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
