# Solar Activity Pro vs Aurora Alert Realtime

The clearest difference is rating: Solar Activity Pro at 4.2 against Aurora Alert Realtime's 3.3. Solar Activity Pro also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Aurora Alert Realtime's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (75% vs 50%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solar Activity Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Aurora Alert Realtime sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solar Activity Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Solar Activity Pro's written reviews are positive against 75% of Aurora Alert Realtime's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solar Activity Pro ships an update every 2 weeks, Aurora Alert Realtime every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
