# RemNote vs Flashcards

The clearest difference is monetization model: RemNote at freemium against Flashcards's subscription. RemNote also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 weeks) and ratings volume (1.7K vs 1). Flashcards's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RemNote sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Flashcards sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flashcards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RemNote has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

RemNote ships an update every 3 days, Flashcards every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
