# PDF Ripper vs Par

The clearest difference is price: Par at Free against PDF Ripper's $1.99. Par also leads on rating (3.5 vs 2.7) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 38 months). PDF Ripper's advantage is review sentiment (20% vs 0%). On ratings volume, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Par is free to download; PDF Ripper costs $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Par holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of PDF Ripper's written reviews are positive against 0% of Par's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Ripper ships an update every 38 months, Par every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
