# uScan vs Smart Printer

uScan and Smart Printer both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 76% of Smart Printer's written reviews are positive against 47% of uScan's. Smart Printer also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). uScan's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 581) and chart position (#193 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. uScan sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Smart Printer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for uScan against 4.6 for Smart Printer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: uScan has 15K ratings behind it against 581, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 47% of uScan's written reviews are positive against 76% of Smart Printer's.

uScan ships an update every 3 weeks, Smart Printer every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
