# Passwords for Nextcloud vs C2 Password

The clearest difference is rating: C2 Password at 4.5 against Passwords for Nextcloud's 4.1. C2 Password also leads on ratings volume (178 vs 20) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Passwords for Nextcloud's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 61%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Passwords for Nextcloud sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and C2 Password sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

C2 Password holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: C2 Password has 178 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Passwords for Nextcloud's written reviews are positive against 61% of C2 Password's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Passwords for Nextcloud ships an update every 2 months, C2 Password monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
