# D vs BePrivate VPN

The clearest difference is rating: BePrivate VPN at 3.6 against D's 2.8. BePrivate VPN also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). D's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (44% vs 20%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. D sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days and BePrivate VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BePrivate VPN holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BePrivate VPN has 71 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of D's written reviews are positive against 20% of BePrivate VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

D ships an update every 3 weeks, BePrivate VPN weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
