# Data Wallet vs Textplug

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Data Wallet at 67% against Textplug's 20%. Data Wallet also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). Textplug's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Textplug holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Textplug has 1.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Data Wallet's written reviews are positive against 20% of Textplug's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Data Wallet ships an update weekly, Textplug every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
