# PureLibro vs CHM Reader

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PureLibro at 77% against CHM Reader's 43%. PureLibro also leads on ratings volume (362 vs 2) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). CHM Reader's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PureLibro sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and CHM Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CHM Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PureLibro has 362 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of PureLibro's written reviews are positive against 43% of CHM Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PureLibro ships an update every 10 days, CHM Reader every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
