# Map Pilot Pro vs FreeFlight 7

The clearest difference is rating: Map Pilot Pro at 4.6 against FreeFlight 7's 3.3. Map Pilot Pro also leads on ratings volume (254 vs 6). FreeFlight 7's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 65%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Map Pilot Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Map Pilot Pro has 254 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Map Pilot Pro's written reviews are positive against 100% of FreeFlight 7's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Map Pilot Pro ships an update every 2 weeks, FreeFlight 7 monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
