# Map Pilot Pro vs Gyroflow

The clearest difference is monetization model: Gyroflow at free against Map Pilot Pro's free with in-app purchases. Gyroflow also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 65%). Map Pilot Pro's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (254 vs 26). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Map Pilot Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Map Pilot Pro has 254 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Map Pilot Pro's written reviews are positive against 76% of Gyroflow's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Map Pilot Pro ships an update every 2 weeks, Gyroflow every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
