# Dew vs Acumen

The clearest difference is monetization model: Acumen at free with in-app purchases against Dew's subscription. Acumen also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). Dew's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dew sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Acumen sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Dew against 5.0 for Acumen. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Acumen has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Dew ships an update every 2 months, Acumen every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
