# Lightcert vs Groov

The clearest difference is update cadence: Groov at every 4 days against Lightcert's every 2 months. Lightcert's advantage is ratings volume (130 vs 6) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Lightcert against 5.0 for Groov. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lightcert has 130 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Lightcert ships an update every 2 months, Groov every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
