# Rock Identifier vs PodCE

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PodCE at none against Rock Identifier's 17. PodCE also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). Rock Identifier's advantage is ratings volume (82K vs 1) and chart position (#29 vs unranked). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rock Identifier sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. PodCE asks for nothing beyond the download.

PodCE holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rock Identifier has 82K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
