# Backup Contacts vs Export My Contacts Backup

Backup Contacts and Export My Contacts Backup both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Backup Contacts's written reviews are positive against 57% of Export My Contacts Backup's. Backup Contacts also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). Export My Contacts Backup's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (91 vs 6). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backup Contacts sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Export My Contacts Backup sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Export My Contacts Backup holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Export My Contacts Backup has 91 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Backup Contacts's written reviews are positive against 57% of Export My Contacts Backup's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backup Contacts ships an update every 10 days, Export My Contacts Backup every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
