# Happy Curls vs Curl

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Curl at none against Happy Curls's 5. Happy Curls's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 26 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Curls sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Curl asks for nothing beyond the download.

Happy Curls ships an update fortnightly, Curl every 26 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
