# iPrep vs LingualShift

The clearest difference is rating: LingualShift at 5.0 against iPrep's 1.8. iPrep's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iPrep sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and LingualShift sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LingualShift holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iPrep has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

iPrep ships an update every 3 weeks, LingualShift every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
