# CamTrails vs DU

CamTrails and DU both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 71% of DU's written reviews are positive against 50% of CamTrails's. DU also leads on update cadence (every 4 months vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (33 vs 4). CamTrails's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CamTrails sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and DU sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for CamTrails against 4.5 for DU. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DU has 33 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. CamTrails ships an update every 11 months, DU every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
