# Solstice vs Schmuddelwetter

The clearest difference is monetization model: Schmuddelwetter at free against Solstice's free with in-app purchases. Schmuddelwetter also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). Solstice's advantage is device support (5 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solstice sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Schmuddelwetter sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solstice ships an update every 2 months, Schmuddelwetter every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
