# GPSEC vs Pro GPS

The clearest difference is rating: Pro GPS at 5.0 against GPSEC's 4.2. Pro GPS also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). GPSEC's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Pro GPS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPSEC has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GPSEC ships an update fortnightly, Pro GPS every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
