# Spin vs Synapse

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Synapse at none against Spin's 3. Synapse also leads on iOS requirement (12.1 vs 16.0). Spin's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and device support (5 vs 3). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spin sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Synapse asks for nothing beyond the download.

Spin ships an update fortnightly, Synapse every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
