# Progress vs Progress Checker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Progress at 80% against Progress Checker's 25%. Progress also leads on rating (4.8 vs 1.8) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 8 months). Progress Checker's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Progress sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Progress Checker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Progress holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Progress has 884 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Progress's written reviews are positive against 25% of Progress Checker's.

Progress ships an update every 4 weeks, Progress Checker every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
