# Progress vs Counterella

The clearest difference is ads: Counterella at none against Progress's shown. Progress's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Progress sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Counterella sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Progress ships an update every 4 weeks, Counterella every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
