# Progress vs Year Progress

The clearest difference is ads: Year Progress at none against Progress's shown. Year Progress also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Progress's advantage is ratings volume (884 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Progress sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Year Progress sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Year Progress holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Progress has 884 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Progress ships an update every 4 weeks, Year Progress weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
