# FloatText vs Video Teleprompter

The clearest difference is monetization model: Video Teleprompter at freemium against FloatText's subscription. Video Teleprompter also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). FloatText's advantage is ratings volume (334 vs 21). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FloatText sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Video Teleprompter sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for FloatText against 4.8 for Video Teleprompter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FloatText has 334 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of FloatText's written reviews are positive against 100% of Video Teleprompter's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
