# FloatText vs Teleprompter

FloatText and Teleprompter both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 86% of FloatText's written reviews are positive against 40% of Teleprompter's. FloatText also leads on ratings volume (332 vs 46). Teleprompter's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FloatText sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Teleprompter sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for FloatText against 4.6 for Teleprompter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FloatText has 332 ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of FloatText's written reviews are positive against 40% of Teleprompter's.

FloatText ships an update every 2 weeks, Teleprompter every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
