# Device Tracker vs Find Air

The clearest difference is monetization model: Find Air at free with in-app purchases against Device Tracker's subscription. Find Air also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Device Tracker's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Device Tracker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Find Air sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Device Tracker against 4.4 for Find Air. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Device Tracker has 651 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Device Tracker's written reviews are positive against 50% of Find Air's.

Device Tracker ships an update every 2 weeks, Find Air every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
