# Joy vs ICool Wallpapers

The clearest difference is rating: Joy at 3.6 against ICool Wallpapers's 2.7. Joy also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.0). ICool Wallpapers's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and review sentiment (22% vs 2%). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ICool Wallpapers sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Joy asks for nothing beyond the download.

Joy holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ICool Wallpapers has 180 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 2% of Joy's written reviews are positive against 22% of ICool Wallpapers's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Joy ships an update monthly, ICool Wallpapers weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
