# ArtRef vs Prompt AI

The clearest difference is rating: ArtRef at 5.0 against Prompt AI's 4.4. ArtRef also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.5). Prompt AI's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ArtRef holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prompt AI has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ArtRef ships an update every 3 weeks, Prompt AI every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
