# Tracking vs Discovery Cove

The clearest difference is monetization model: Tracking at free against Discovery Cove's free with in-app purchases. Tracking also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). Discovery Cove's advantage is ratings volume (2K vs 4) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Tracking against 4.9 for Discovery Cove. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Discovery Cove has 2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tracking ships an update every 8 days, Discovery Cove every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
