# Huru vs WhalePrep

The clearest difference is rating: WhalePrep at 5.0 against Huru's 4.6. WhalePrep also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 weeks). Huru's advantage is ratings volume (94 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Huru sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month and WhalePrep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WhalePrep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Huru has 94 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Huru ships an update every 4 weeks, WhalePrep every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
