# Spider King vs Mutant Escape !

The clearest difference is rating: Spider King at 4.6 against Mutant Escape !'s 4.0. Spider King also leads on ratings volume (30K vs 84) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Mutant Escape !'s advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 51%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spider King sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Mutant Escape ! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spider King holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spider King has 30K ratings behind it against 84, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Spider King's written reviews are positive against 67% of Mutant Escape !'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spider King ships an update every 3 weeks, Mutant Escape ! every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
