# Abatix vs Fire Notification

The clearest difference is monetization model: Abatix at free against Fire Notification's subscription. Abatix also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Fire Notification's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fire Notification holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fire Notification has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Abatix ships an update every 3 months, Fire Notification every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
