# Equalizer vs Extra Volume Booster

The clearest difference is monetization model: Equalizer at free with in-app purchases against Extra Volume Booster's subscription. Equalizer also leads on ratings volume (6.5K vs 1.5K). Extra Volume Booster's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Equalizer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Extra Volume Booster sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Extra Volume Booster holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6.5K and 1.5K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 16% of Equalizer's written reviews are positive against 38% of Extra Volume Booster's.

Equalizer ships an update every 3 months, Extra Volume Booster fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
