# Equalizer vs Higher Volume

The clearest difference is monetization model: Equalizer at free with in-app purchases against Higher Volume's subscription. Higher Volume's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Equalizer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Higher Volume sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Equalizer against 4.3 for Higher Volume. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6.5K and 3.9K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 16% of Equalizer's written reviews are positive against 24% of Higher Volume's.

Equalizer ships an update every 3 months, Higher Volume every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
