# Stratword vs Writing Shed Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Writing Shed Pro at 100% against Stratword's 47%. Writing Shed Pro also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs monthly). Stratword's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (97 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stratword sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Writing Shed Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stratword holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stratword has 97 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Stratword's written reviews are positive against 100% of Writing Shed Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stratword ships an update monthly, Writing Shed Pro every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
