# GhostGuard vs ChatMax

The clearest difference is monetization model: ChatMax at freemium against GhostGuard's subscription. ChatMax also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). GhostGuard's advantage is ratings volume (985 vs 11) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GhostGuard sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and ChatMax sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for GhostGuard against 4.6 for ChatMax. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GhostGuard has 985 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GhostGuard ships an update every 6 weeks, ChatMax every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
