# Garmin Messenger™ vs Galileyo

The clearest difference is rating: Garmin Messenger™ at 4.6 against Galileyo's 3.4. Garmin Messenger™ also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (14K vs 5). Galileyo's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 20%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Galileyo sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.95 per month. Garmin Messenger™ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Garmin Messenger™ holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Messenger™ has 14K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Garmin Messenger™'s written reviews are positive against 33% of Galileyo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Garmin Messenger™ ships an update every 3 weeks, Galileyo fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
