# StitchPal vs Cross Stitch Workshop

The clearest difference is rating: StitchPal at 4.7 against Cross Stitch Workshop's 4.0. StitchPal also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Cross Stitch Workshop's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 71%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StitchPal sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Cross Stitch Workshop sells 18 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StitchPal holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StitchPal has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of StitchPal's written reviews are positive against 100% of Cross Stitch Workshop's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
