# OutLearn vs Spaced Repetition

The clearest difference is update cadence: OutLearn at every 4 days against Spaced Repetition's monthly. OutLearn also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (129 vs 6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OutLearn sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Spaced Repetition sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OutLearn holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OutLearn has 129 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of OutLearn's written reviews are positive against 88% of Spaced Repetition's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OutLearn ships an update every 4 days, Spaced Repetition monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
