# Pro Camera vs Nocturne by Unistellar

The clearest difference is rating: Pro Camera at 4.4 against Nocturne by Unistellar's 4.0. Pro Camera also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (1K vs 86). Nocturne by Unistellar's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pro Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per year and Nocturne by Unistellar sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pro Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pro Camera has 1K ratings behind it against 86, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Pro Camera's written reviews are positive against 55% of Nocturne by Unistellar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pro Camera ships an update every 5 weeks, Nocturne by Unistellar every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
