# FD Viewer vs The Barometer

The clearest difference is ads: FD Viewer at none against The Barometer's shown. FD Viewer also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). The Barometer's advantage is ratings volume (315 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FD Viewer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Barometer has 315 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
